This library was built in 1918 in the Egyptian style popular at the time and is on the National Register of Historic Places. Recently restored, the building is home to a brand new childrens area (lower level), a Louis L'Amour interactive exhibit, and an Alfred Dickey display.
The Alfred Dickey Public Library, one of the stops on the Louis L'Amour Trail. This building, that still serves as a public library, was the library Louis visited while he was growing up here in Jamestown. It was also one of the places that helped to stimulate Louis' love for the written word.
