Winter Activities
Sledding
Hillcrest Golf Course is the place to go for some sledding fun. It is a short walk from the parking lot to Hillcrest’s sledding area. Nearby, the Bunker is open as a warming house, complete with games and concessions for those who need a little more time out of the cold.
Hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Weekends from 11:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Cross Country Skiing
Hillcrest Golf Course is the place to go for some skiing fun as well. Jamestown Parks and Rec offers groomed trails at Hillcrest Golf Course. Rentals are available.
Snowmobiling
Seize the winter in Jamestown, ND when you rev up your snowmobile and hit the Sheyenne Valley Trail! Lauded as one of North Dakota’s great snowmobiling trails, The Sheyenne Valley trail connects directly to Jamestown. In its entirety, it is more than a day trip spanning five counties, with over 300 miles of groomed snowmobile trails. Gear up, head on out, and experience the beauty of the frozen James River Valley landscape, the thrill of speed, ditch riding, shelterbelts, and open prairie. Ice Skating
Skating rinks and warming houses are available at Meidinger, Leapaldt and McElroy Parks.
Warming house hours:
- Mon-Fri. 3:30-8:00pm.
- Saturday: 11:00am-7:00pm
- Sunday: 12:00pm-6:00pm
