At Frontier Village, history is all around you. Wander through authentic pioneer buildings, peek into a one-room schoolhouse, enjoy authentic kuchen and ice cream at the General Store, and enjoy this kid-friendly site that brings the late 1800s to life. This living village sits beside the World’s Largest Buffalo Monument, making it one of the most photographed stops in the state.

Experience the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library in 2026
Just a few hours west in Medora, the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library will open on July 4, 2026. It's a fitting tribute to America’s 250th birthday. Designed to honor Roosevelt’s conservation legacy and his transformative years in North Dakota, the library will feature immersive exhibits, research spaces, and expansive views of the Badlands he loved.
Jamestown offers a convenient home base for travelers heading west to Medora, with easy highway access, comfortable lodging, and plenty to explore along the way.
